Bastille

(21 Ratings)
Beautiful, historic, and so very gay!

A beautiful, hand-carved wooden bar built during Prohibition is the anchor of this friendly, relaxed neighborhood gay bar. Quirky decor and multi-colored twinkle lights create a funky and unique atmosphere to enjoy a cocktail and great conversation. This is a fantastic spot to stop during Mardi Gras season!

Good place

Visiting STL,I went to the Anheuser-Bush brewery tour. Stopped into Bastille for some food and drinks. Friendly fun group of people. Pulled out my laptop and they even had WiFi. Had a few drinks and burger, fries. Good decent place. I read in a review that there is a new owner; Looks like this place is on the way to being a good nieghborhood hangout.

Under new owners

Bob has sold this dusty bar and i have hopes they will strip everything out and do a much needed remodel. The drinks are strong without a dought.

This bar is far from Beautiful, but the bartenders are great and friendly, pour very heavy drinks, and the crowd is mostly friendly., Great location in Soulard
