(33 Ratings)
The oldest gay bar west of the Mississippi
Beer, beef, and jockey underwear. What more could one want? Well, it's also a historical bar in a historical neighborhood, offering a full steak and rib menu.

Pathetically Apathetic

Wow! I'm really shocked that this place still thrives! As a newcomer to St. Louis I've been making my rounds of the local gay bars and have found the bartenders here to be decidedly the most apathetic towards their customers (or at least me...) I've ever experienced. This isn't a place that has any reason to throw attitude and that's not really the problem. I've almost never sat at a bar with an empty glass and not been almost immediately offered a refill! But here, you could easily fall asleep at the bar waiting! After my sixth or so visit here I've decided this simply is not a place I choose to spend my hard earned cash especially when I can go down to Rehab or JJ's and be served by energetic, young, attractive bartenders who at least pretend to care about what they're doing!

Sundays are fun days!!!!

great day to get a cocktail.Bartenders make them really good.Love going here just for the drinks.People here are ok-older boring crowd. The restaurant on the other hand,WILL NOT EAT HERE AGAIN!!!!Plate and the silverware were dirty.I asked for a different fork and got attutide for asking. You might not mind eating from a dirty fork but I sure in hell do!!!!Food was not that great.I could have eatin at a local diner and got better service! If you are in the mood for a great drink, this is the place. :)

Dirty, crowded and bad service.

I have been to Clementine's three times and none of my visits were pleasant. Aside from patrons being vulgar and obnoxious the service on my final trip was terrible. I asked for the ham and cheese sandwich with the ham on the side or left off. The server then goes into the kitchen, comes back out and tells me they don't serve cheese sandwiches and that I had to order it with the ham. I don't see why it should be so hard to order cheese and bread but apparently the (mediocre at best) cook had some issues that day. The server then tells me if I don't want meat then I should get the fried zuchinni and a salad. I ended up getting the salad but had to have it returned because the server just grabbed the lettuce with his bare hands an put it on the plate. He didn't wash his hands or put on gloves first! Needless to say I would not recommend Clementine's.

Square bar with Resturaunt

One single bar in a square setup. Has a tavern type feel ala "cheers". Resturaunt attached at the side. Busy on a Saturday, but more of an older crowd.

Busy After work crowd

I stopped in here on a friday around 6. This place was pretty busy. Lots of folks enjoying a few drinks after hours. Not sure if this is normal Happy Hour crowd, or just cause its Friday. I'll have to go back and check on a different day.
