Erney's 32 Degrees (Closed Permanently)

(33 Ratings)
Swanky vodka bar
With a 32-degree walk-in freezer for tasting vodka, what more could you really need? Saturdays are packed at Ernie's, as the crowd flocks in for the swanky interior and $10 all-you-can-drink deal.

My Kinda Place

In my opinion, Erney's is the perfect combination that you find in a modern gay video bar - swanky interior that says we're allowed to have nice things, mixed with a laid back attitude that says you don't have to be a total jerk to enjoy those things. Yes, crowd skews younger, at least late at night when the DJ hits it hard and the place practically explodes from being so full. But I've never felt underdressed or ugly or anything there, and I'm a Kohl's shopper, you know what I'm saying? That said, this kind of becomes the place to be late on weekend nights, so it obviously attracts a large young crowd that wants to dance. If that isn't for you, then I'd suggest another time of day/week to sample the walk-in vodka bar. In all, this place makes me feel very comfortable. The staff is friendly. It's beautifully decorated but they somehow manage to avoid pretention. I'd recommend it to anyone that wants to have a good night.

The bartender, Anthony Oliver, is the best! I always make sure to go to him when he's working

Great Ambience

Definitely an ambience that is unique in St. Louis ... great, sophisticated aesthetic that feels more like Manhattan or Miami. Tends to get crowded later in the evening, but would make a great place to meet friends for happy hour, especially when the patio is fully reopened for the season.

Fun place

We always wind up here. I'm not sure what all the complaints are about concerning the "young" crowd. My bf and I are 35 and have never felt out of place. Everyone is quite friendly, including the staff. Drinks are a bit pricey but they have some good specials. The back outside area is my favorite. The put in a long bar that seats a bunch of people. This place picks up late and seems to be the bar to meet someone at the end of the night. Great music.
